Chennai: A mutt head has threatened to immolate himself next month if the government fails to act on building a Ram temple at Ayodhya.
Speaking to reports at Ayodhya, Swamy Paramhans Das of Tapasvi Savni temple mutt said he had undertaken fast 6 October asking for the construction of the Ram temple. He gave his fast on an assurance from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The sant claimed that the Chief Minister had assured that they would soon announce the date the construction of the temple. Further, he said he would make get an appointment with Prime Minister Modi, which did not materialise, alleged Das.
Now, he was setting the government a deadline: If the BJP government fails to fix a date for the construction of the Ram temple in a month’s time – by 5 December – he would immolate himself on 6 December.
