Chennai: Team Hogworts from IIT Madras has been adjudged winner of the first-ever edition of Red Bull Basement University in India.
A collaborative platform for students to challenge the status quo and co-create to drive change on campus through technology, Red Bull Basement University aims to find innovators who want to use their skills and knowledge in technology to solve problems in and around their respective campus.
It is the student-focused wing of Red Bull Basement – a global project that aims to connect the next generation of innovators, a press release said.
Team members Chaitya Patel and Satwik Gupta developed Hogworts, a web-based platform for hosting university projects that helps students build a community of experts for their projects.
The platform aims to help students source talent, seek guidance, clear roadblocks, test their ideas and earn the necessary credibility. They will now have until 23 November to further explore and execute their idea, and potentially create a prototype.
The team will be mentored by Helm of Eight, an ecosystem and incubator that identifies and nurtures conscious projects.
Following this, the team will travel to the Red Bull Basement University Global Meeting in Berlin from 29 November to 2 December this year.
