Chennai: High speed winds are beating down on Tiruchi in the aftermath of severe cyclonic storm Gaja making landfall at Adhiramapattinam last night.

This has affected flight services to Tiruchi.

The Chennai-Tiruchi flight of Indigo airliner, carrying 36 persons, returned to Chennai on account of the heavy winds in Tiruchi.

Also,  the flight from Sharjah to Tiruchi had to be diverted to Kochi airport as it could not land due to the high speed winds in Tiruchi.

The Chennai-Tiruchi Air India flights stand cancelled as of now.
