Chennai: With just a week to go for the release of Superstar Rajinikanth’s 2.0 across the globe, the makers have come out with some stills from the movie. Made in 3D format, the movie features Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson in lead roles. Directed by Shankar, the movie would be out in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Rajinikanth’s films never failed to enthral his fans. And his 2.0 will be no different. A sequel to his earlier hit Enthiran, the movie would have a surprise character – quite like ‘Motta Boss’ in Sivaji.

Says Rajinikanth, “I can’t reveal it right now. But I am sure the audience will enjoy it definitely.”

In a recent interview, the actor said, “Except for main characters, 2.0 is a completely different film from Enthiran. Major Hollywood studios adjusted their prior commitments to work on this project as they were so impressed with the subject of the film.”

Produced by Lyca Productions at a cost of Rs 550 crore in 3D, the movie is releasing in over 5,000 screens in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.

Directed by Shankar, it has Rajinikanth as scientist, Dr Vaseegaran, and robot Chitti. Akshay Kumar plays the baddie. Amy Jackson is the heroine. Music is by A R Rahman.

The Kaala actor appreciated Akshay for his patience and commitment that he showed to this film. “If I were Akshay Kumar, I would have been fed up with this project. He worked very hard for this film with unimaginable patience. No amount of praise is enough to match his work in the film,” he said.

“His character will be talked about very highly after the film’s release,” he added.
