Chennai: Chennai Metro Rail Ltd (CMRL) in association with Mohan Foundation will be conducting a visual arts competition, Life 2.0, on the theme organ donation for students of various schools and colleges in Chennai. The competition will take place at Vadapalani Metro station on Saturday, between 3 pm and 6 pm.
CMRL has now turned out to be synonymous with health and wellness as it has been organising a lot of events focusing on it. They recently held oral hygiene and ortho camps. Now the department has moved one step higher and will be organising an organ donation awareness drive through competitions.
A Metro spokesperson said, “Participation is open to all school and college students. It will include painting, photography, cartoons, installations, illustrations and graphics. To book a spot, registration can be done through Mohan Foundation website: https://www.mohanfoundation.org/visual-art-festival-register.asp or at the venue. Exciting prizes and gifts await the participants.”
“The event also marks the fourth collaboration between Mohan Foundation and CMRL, as we have been constantly supporting the foundation’s activities and are greatly passionate about the cause,” he said.
Mohan Foundation, established in 1997, began its activities to promote organ donation. Annually it conducts more than 500 public awareness talks, trains transplant coordinators / grief counsellors, conducts training programmes for surgeons, doctors, nurses, hospital administrative staff and liaisons with the State and Central governments to promote organ donation.
