Chennai: An employee of AGS office, Teynampet was found hanging at his residence in Anna Nagar West this morning. According to the police, Gnana Shekar (52), a resident of CPWD Quarters lived with his wife Margaret, a school teacher and two college going children- a boy and a girl.

This morning, his wife grew suspicious when she found him locked in his bedroom for long time without leaving for work. When he elicited no response, the family members broke open the door, and he was found hanging using a saree.

Police are yet to ascertain the reason for the suicide. The family allegedly told police that he suffered from unbearable headache often. The police are also inquiring if the family had any financial setback recently.

The body was sent to Government Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.
