VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan with DMK president M K Stalin at Arivalayam in Chennai today.

Pudhukottai: At a time when DMK treasurer M Dhuraimurugan’s comment on alliance parties, especially MDMK and VCK, has created ripples in the political scenario, VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan met DMK president M K Stalin at Arivalayam today.

Earlier in the day, Thirumavalavan underplayed Dhuraimurugan’s statement and said it was a casual one.

“Being referred to as friendly party does not mean that we are not in alliance. We will definitely forge an alliance,” he said.

The meeting with Stalin came a day after Thirumavalan met AMMK founder TTV Dhinakaran during the relief works carried out in the cyclone Gaja affected areas in Pudhukottai.

Dhinakaran was at Kothamangalam in Pudhukottai to give relief works on behalf of his party. Similarly, Thirumavalavan was also in the same spot. Knowing about Dhinakaran’s presence, Thirumavalavan went and met him.

It is said the duo discussed the aftermath of Gaja and the destruction the cyclone has caused in the delta region.

Thirumavalavan said that the meeting with Dhinakaran was an accidental one, and there was no political motive in it.
