Chennai: In a bizarre incident, the father of an IIT student is frantically searching for his son who has been missing since 29 November.
According to the police, Rushik Reddy (21), a final year mechanical engineering student lived in one of the hostels in IIT.
He had not contacted his family for the past few days and remains untraceable. A native of Andhra Pradesh, his father Prabhakar Reddy, a business man reached the city this morning and checked for him at his hostel.
It was found that he packed his bags and left a few days ago. However, his friends do not know where he went. Subsequently, a complaint was lodged at Kotturpuram police station.
An investigating officer said that off late, Rushik was under a lot of exam pressure which could be the reason he left. He said the police are trying to check his online activity. While another source claimed that he had gone to Kaniyakumari for a seminar.
