Krishnagiri:Ā As many as 16 wild elephants which entered a village near Hosur were sent back into forest by bursting crackers.
The elephants were spotted inside an eucalyptus grove and their presence was informed to the forest department officials who chased away the tuskers into the forest.
However, the jumbos moved to Kappakal area five kms from Hanumandhapuram in the forest area. The residents in and around these areas have been asked to stay cautious.Ā Meanwhile seven people who tried to sell two tusks in Saathur near Virudhunagar were arrested.
