Chennai: Filmmaker Raju Murugan, who is known for sensible and life-like movies like Cuckoo and Joker, is gearing up with his next flick Gypsy with Jiiva in the lead. Natasha Singh, who won the Miss India beauty pageant once, will be seen playing Jiiva’’s love interest in the film.

Speaking about the film’s genre, Raju says, “It’’s a travel story, as we all know nomads do not have a permanent place to stay and wander from one to another. Though a romantic story, it has a socially relevant theme and questions everyone in the society.”

For the promo song ‘Very Very Bad’, which speaks for the oppressed, the director roped in real life social activists and politicians. Persons like Nallakannu, Thirutthama Gandhi, Piyush Manush, transgender Grace Bhanu and Mugilan, who raise their voice regularly for the downtrodden, were picturised in the song shot recently. The composer Santhosh Narayanan and Jiiva also make an appearance in the video.
