Pongal 2019 is already gaining heat as Ajith’s upcoming commercial action Viswasam and Rajinikanth’s action drama Petta hit screens in the same weekend. With the release date fast approaching both the movies have been censored.
Viswasam has been certified with a U rating with no cuts. The makers of the film have also confirmed that they are all set for Pongal theatrical release but an exact date is yet to be locked. Directed by Siva who made Veeram, Vedalam, and Vivegam with Ajith, Nayanthara plays the romantic interest of the actor in the film. The film also has Thambi Ramaiah, Robo Shankar, Yogi Babu, Vivek, and Kovai Sarala taking care of the comedy department.
Imman is in charge of the songs and background score of Viswasam for which Vetri has cranked the camera. Produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, KJR Studios has snapped the Tamilnadu theatrical rights of the film and they have also locked the territory wise business in the State.
While Petta has been censored with a UA certificate. It seemed that the movie has had a couple of cuts and mutes of cuss words and defaming phrases. It was announced with yet another poster of Rajinikanth and Simran from the movie. While their first combo picture unveiled earlier showed them on a crowded street, in this one the duo is seen walking through dense woods smiling at each other. The film also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Trisha, Sasikumar, Bobby Simha, Malavika Mohanan, Megha Akash and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Directed by Karthi Subbaraj, this is the first time Anirudh Ravichander has composed music for a superstar movie.
