Chennai: Thieves are resorting to new techniques every day to rob the innocent.
This time they used chilli powder to blind a hapless motorcycle rider and fled with Rs 4 lakh cash he was carrying last night in Nandanam.
The money belongs to Jaffer Sadik who has a cell phone shop. He gave the money to his friend Thameem Ansari who was taking it to the airport to meet a person regarding business.
While Thameem was riding his two-wheeler near Devar statue in Nandanam at around 9 pm, four people in two motorcycles stopped his bike, threw chilli powder on his face and fled with the bag containing Rs 4 lakh.
Teynampet police have registered a case and are investigating it using CCTV footages from the area.
