Chennai: Tamil Maanila Congress (M) president G K Vasan today turned 54 and statewide programmes were held to mark the occasion.
The party workers conducted several welfare activities in districts affected by Cyclone Gaja as a part of the celebrations. Special poojas were also conducted in places of worship across the State.
Former President Pranab Mukherjee, Members of Parliament AK Antony and Supriya Sule, senior BJP leader Radhakrishnan, former Orissa Chief Minister Tatwa Prakash Satpathy, actor Vivek and lyricist Vairamuthu were among those who extended greetings to Vasan.
