Chennai: Two women, believed to be in their 40s, according to TV reports, have succeeded in entering the Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple early this morning.

The local news report said the two womenĀ started their climb from the Pamba base camp around midnight and reached the temple around 3.45 am. Accompanied by police in uniform and plainclothes, they left after praying to Lord Ayyappa, say sources.

There was no media and very few devotees at the time, which helped the women have a quick darshan.

It is said the two women had tried to climb the Sabarimala in the last week of December, but were prevented by massive protests.

Reacting to the news, Rahul Easwar, activist and leader of the Ayyappa Dharma Sena, said, “I don’t think it is true…They might have done that in absolute secrecy. Once we know, we will take appropriate action.”

But Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has confirmed that the two women worshipped at the Ayyappa temple in Sabarimala.
