Bengaluru: The former Karnataka Chief Minister and Congress Legislature party leader Siddaramaiah alleged that Narendra Modi and Amit Shah were trying to destabilise the current coalition government and so they have shifted their MLAs to a resort to escape from BJPs onslaught.

Speaking to reporters, he said, “All our MLAs will stay together, we will discuss there about drought situation. All our MLAs, MPs and ministers will stay together at one place…. We will stay as long it is necessary.”

This move by the Karnataka government comes after reports claimed that at least 8 MLAs had committed to jumping ship to BJP.

Siddaramaiah accused the BJP of offering money to their MLAs. Rs 50 crore, 100 crore, 25 crore were being offered to their MLAs. He also said that he would give evidence. The BJP has spoken to their MLAs like Anil Chikkamadu, Shivalli, Hebbar, Anajali and Ramappa, and many others. The BJP doesn’t believe in democracy he said. He questioned what the 104 BJP MLAs were doing at the seven star hotels in Gurugram.

He further stated that in South India, Karnataka is the only state where the BJP has its presence. The BJP had won 17 seats the last time but they can’t win even a seat in other Southern states.

Siddaramaiah said that he had information that BJP has done an internal survey and if they win 3 or 4 seats in Karnataka it is a great thing. He asserted that Congress MLAs were together and intact.
