To celebrate the 75th birthday of maestro Ilayaraja, several colleges in the State organised special events in which the music composer took part.
A few students who sang on stage, urged him to give them an opportunity to croon for his film(s). Mightily impressed with their voice, Ilayaraja promised to give them a chance whenever an appropriate opportunity arose.
Recently, Ilayaraja called nine students from various educational institutions and recorded a song in their voice for his upcoming film Tamilarasan.
The movie, produced by SNS Films, features Vijay Antony in the lead role.
