Bengaluru: “I’m ready to quit. I don’t want to stick on to the chair,” said an agitated Karnataka Chief minister HD Kumaraswamy who was upset with Congress MLAs for making statements against the coalition government today.
“If my style of functioning is not acceptable I am ready to quit, I don’t want to stick on to the chair,” he said speaking to reporters after flagging off the first six-car Metro train in Bengaluru.
His comments come after Yeshwantpur constituency’s Congress MLA S T Somashekar on Sunday alleged that development work in Bengaluru city had slowed down under the coalition government. The Chief Minister in reply defended the coalition government and said that it was formed to give good governance.
He said, “Congress MLAs say Siddaramaiah is their leader, Congress leaders have to watch all that issues, I am not the concerned person for it. If they want to continue with it, I am ready to step down. They are crossing line. Congress leaders must control their MLAs”
“State government has alloted Rs one lakh crore to various projects including peripheral ring road, suburban rail, elevated corridor and many more. There is no difference between us and Congress,” Kumaraswamy added
KPCC president Dinesh Gundu Rao had said Somashekar’s statement was unacceptable. “If he has any issues he should have discussed it with Deputy CM G Parameshwara who is from our party. We are issuing a show-cause notice to him,” he had said.
