Madurai: The Tamilnadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami on Sunday submitted a 92-page memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, listing various demands.

In the memorandum, he urged Modi to withdraw the permission given to Karnataka for a detailed project report (DPR) on its proposed dam across the Cauvery river at Mekedattu and to cancel the permission given for conducting a survey for building a new dam in Mullaiperiyar by the Kerala government.

He also sought Bharat Ratna for former Tamilnadu chief ministers C N Annadurai and J Jayalalithaa. He wanted the Centre to bring Salem, Hosur and Neyveli under UDAN (the regional air connectivity scheme).

Seeking additional funds towards Gaja cyclone relief, Palaniswami said the Prime Minister should also take steps to protect the fireworks industry which provided livelihood to eight lakh people. The Chief Minister also asked for the GST amount due for Tamilnadu to be released immediately.
