Chennai: An appeal against the verdict allowing the conducting of ‘Ilayaraja 75′, an event to celebrate the honour the music maestro, was today filed in the Madras High Court bench comprising Justice N Kirubakaran and Abdul Quddhose.

The judges agreed to take up the case for hearing today after the petitioners’ advocate Thiyageswaran requested to take up the case on emergency basis.

The petition has been filed after Justice K Kalyanasundaram yesterday declined to stay the event.
The event is scheduled to happen in the city on 2 and 3 February.
