Amaravati: Referring to the Union Budget, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday accused the NDA government of discriminating against South India in the matter of allotting cabinet berths.

He accused that Centre was attempting to remove the state from the country’s map as there was not one mention about Andhra Pradesh in the budget.

The Chief Minister also accused Centre of discriminating against south India as it did not give any berth in the Union Cabinet to at least one MP from the region.

The Chief Minister said Sadananda Gowda from Karnataka was the sole face in the Central government. Naidu also wondered if making M Venkaiah Naidu the Vice-President was a punishment or promotion and alleged he was removed as Union Minister out of anger.

He pointed out that during the Congress rule, if the Prime Minister was from the north, a person from the south used to be made the President.

When two BJP MLAs P Vishnu Kumar Raju and Manikyala Rao protested, Naidu asked the BJP MLAs to count the number of portfolios allotted to South India.

He also addressed the House on the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act 2014 and the broken promises of the BJP-led NDA government. “You have no right to be an elected (peoples) representative. Are you doing tamasha. What do you think of yourself? What can you people do? Put me in jail? Don’t we have anguish,” Naidu said.

Even as the BJP leader started to raise an objection, Naidu asked him to go to Delhi and raise his objection. Modi came in 2002, Amit Shah came yesterday, but that he had became an MLA for the first time in 1978, he further added.

Naidu claimed that the proposed Federal Front was Narendra Modi’s new proposal and that he was trying to play politics in Andhra Pradesh using Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and YSR Congress president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy. He also accused Modi of trying to protect all economic offenders, including YSR congress chief.
