Though Tamil cinema has seen a lot of horror tales and mystery thrillers, ‘Aghavan’ will be different. It is a fight between good versus evil narrated in the most realistic manner, says director Ezhumalai, a former assistant of Prabhu Solomon.

His maiden directorial venture features Kishore Ravichandran as hero and Kannada actress Srirashree making her debut as the heroine. Nithya Shetty, the popular child artiste turned heroine from Telugu cinema, is also in the cast.

Thambi Ramaiah, Saranraj, Chinni Jayanth, RNR Manohar are among the supporting cast. Sathya is scoring the music and Bala Pazhaniappan cranks the camera.

Speaking about the movie, the director, says, “Aghavan means the god who resides inside you. If you go close to him, you become someone good. If you distance yourself from him you tend to do bad things. My hero is one such person who works in a Shiva temple, situated inside dense woods. Two girls come in his life and how things change forms the crux.”

Ezhumalai, who started his career as assistant to veteran filmmaker K Balachander, added that the script would be unpredicatble and there are enough twists and turns to engage and entertain audience.

A major portion of the movie was shot in an interior village Anandhamangalam, a Shiva temple there and its adjacent forests besides Kumbakonam and Jog Falls. Plans are on for a release this month-end.
