Jodhpur: A case has been registered in Jodhpur against cricketers Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, and Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar for the comments made towards women on talk show ‘Koffee with Karan’ that aired in December.
The complaint has been filed following the ‘sexist’ and ‘derogatory’ statements made by Hardik and Rahul on an episode of Johar’s talk show.
This is the first time that the filmmaker has also found himself in trouble. Earlier, both the cricketers were suspended by the BCCI as the duo faced a lot of flack on social media for their comments.
Hardik and Rahul were called back from India’s tour of Australia and were not named in the squad for the New Zealand tour. Thereafter, their bans have been lifted with Pandya returning to the fold to feature in New Zealand and KL Rahul for India A against England Lions.
Their suspensions were lifted on 24 January pending appointment of an ombudsman. Pandya played three ODIs against New Zealand taking four wickets and scoring 61 runs.
Commenting on the controversy that broke out after the episode was aired on 6 January, Johar had said he feels very responsible about the repercussions that the cricketers had to face since they made some misogynistic remarks on his chat show.
