Chennai: After the success of Train 18 manufactured by ICF, the factory is now all set to produce 10 more rakes of the train by March 2020.
Sources said these rakes will be manufactured along with 3,200 coaches targeted for the current year.
It may be noted ICF has started expanding its factory which will help to raise its production rate.
The Railway Board finalised to order these new rakes of Train 18 after the first rake cleared the safety and speed tests during its trail run in November and December 2018.
Speaking with News Today, a senior ICF official said, “The first Train 18 rake will be delivered by March this year while the rest of the rakes will be delivered by March 2020.” He also noted that ICF will soon be capable to manufacture one rake of Train 18 every month.
