Hyderabad: The Telangana police on Sunday busted a sex determination racket and arrested a doctor in Ibrahimpatnam for conducting illegal prenatal sex determination examinations on pregnant women.
According to reports, the police had received a tip off about the doctor who was running private clinic in Ibrahimpatnam and that he was conducting illegal prenatal sex determination examination on pregnant women who came there for their scans.
Later, on 8 January, a team of police sent a 6-month pregnant woman to the clinic as a decoy. The doctor disclosed the gender of the unborn baby and took Rs 7,000 as fees. He was subsequently arrested by the police.
