Chennai: Suspected to be a case of overspeeding, a biker died after ramming his vehicle against an electric pole on CTH Road, Ambattur Industrial Estate.
According to the police, Venkatesan Murugan (48), a resident of Ambattur Estate, worked for a private company in the city. At 10 pm yesterday, he was riding on a two-wheeler on CTH Road and rammed against an EB post on the side of the road.
Poonamallee Traffic Investigation Police sent his body for post-mortem to Kilpauk Government Hospital.
It is suspected that Venkatesan was overspeeding which led to the mishap.
A case has been registered under 304A of IPC (causing death by negligence). He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
