Chennai: “Medical diagnostic laboratories in Tamilnadu have a rare opportunity of shaping the outcomes and trust aspiration of patients by investing in good quality instruments, the cost of which is much lower than the cost of failures due to poor quality,” said speakers at a conference.

Aimed at empowering medical laboratory technologists, nurses and clinicians with the skills needed for the successful implementation and running of a quality management system (QMS) in a medical lab, IQUMA TN lab quality conference was held here for two days recently.

Prominent speakers who took part in panel discussions, lectures and other sessions included Indian Institute of Technology – Madras department of computer science and engineering professor, Balaraman Ravindran, Foundation for Quality India (FQI) CEO, Dr Thuppil Venkatesh, Dr Mehta’s Hospitals head of laboratory services, Dr Seethalakshmi and IQUMA chairperson, Sameer Mehta, a press release said.

Awards were also given to various diagnostic laboratories in different categories.
