Coimbatore: Pricol Limited on Tuesday said it would to reconsider the dismissal order of over 70 of its employees if they were willing to resume duty within seven days at their allotted location.
Following continuous strike by it’s employees, the automotive parts manufacturer had recently transferred more than 250 employees. According to reports,Ā while 72 employees did not respond to the transfer order, a few of them resumed work. On 11 February, the company management had dismissed the 72 employees as they did not respond to the letters.
However, yesterday, Pricol issued a statement saying the management was ready to reconsider their dismissal order on humanitarian grounds if the employees were willing to resume duty at their allotted location within seven days from now.
The management said the strike would affect the business at Coimbatore in a very big way. Major customers had insisted on that transferring their existing orders strategically from Coimbatore plants to other plants located in different parts of the country to ensure continuous supply of products.
Kovai Manila Pricol Thozhilalargal Otrumai Sangam had begun their indefinite strike on 21 August and it went on for more than 100 days against the repressive policies of the management.
According to the Statement, the management had signed a tri-party agreements on June 2012 and August 2014 and the agreement ended in June last year and discussions were on to form a new tri-party agreement with the unions from March onwards.
