It is quite disheartening to see people standing under the sun even in February when heat is not much of an issue.
Commuters have to undergo the ordeal at Industrial Estate bus stop as it is devoid of a shelter.
“A shelter is a basic amenity that commuters need to get. That and some seats to sit. However, public transport has never been upto the mark in Chennai in recent times. Buses can be maintained better and so can be shelters. Authorities when contacted always cite lack of funds as the reason. With summer to set in, the next few months will be rough and I urge authorities to erect a shelter at once,” said Dharani, a commuter.
