Pulwama terror attack: NSG, NIA teams leave for J-K to join probe

New Delhi:Ā Today a team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) and National Security Guards (NSG) left for Kashmir to assist in the investigation of the terror attack in Pulwama in which at least 37 CRPF personnel were killed.

According to reports, the team comprises experts of anti-terror commando force the NSG and investigators of the NIA. The NIA team includes forensic experts to assist Jammu and Kashmir Police in forensic evaluation of the spot.Ā Explosive specialists of the Black Cat commando force NSG would also join the probe said reports.

Yesterday evening, around 3.15 pm, aĀ JaishĀ suicide bomber rammed a vehicle loaded with over 100 kg of explosives into a bus carrying Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel inĀ PulwamaĀ district yesterday.Ā 37 CRPF personnel were killed and five injured in the incident.

Since the Uri attack in 2016, yesterday’s incident has been termed as one of the worst terror attacks in the recent past.
