Chennai: On Sivakarthikeyan’s birthday today, the makers of the movie Mr Local launched its teaser. It features Sivakarthikeyan playing Manohar, a boy-next-door and Nayanthara as Keerthana, CEO of a big entertainment company. The cat and mouse game between them forms the crux. Sathish, Radikaa Sarath Kumar and Yogi Babu are also in the cast.
The movie would be released 1 May. The film is being bankrolled by Studio Green, which has joined hands with Siva for the first time. M Rajesh, best known for films such as SMS and Boss Engira Bhaskaran, is directing the film. Music is by Hip Hop Adhi.
As there is a Telugu hit film starring Nani got a similar title Nenu Local, a section of media has reported that the Sivakarthikeyan starrer is a remake of the Tollywood film. But when we asked the film’s director Rajesh, he said that Mr Local is an original script and not a remake.
