Bengaluru: “The morale is not affected at all, they are absolutely ready to do their job. The response the people of India have shown, has brought greater motivation to them… The security agencies are working tirelessly to gather more information from the ground. Every effort will be taken to prevent any future incidents such as Pulwama Terror attack,” said Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman yesterday.
Slamming Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan for saying allegations against his country are without any evidence and that his government would act only if India provides actionable evidence, she said, “Since the Mumbai attacks, not just this government, the earlier government also had sent dossiers after dossiers, evidence after evidence, what action has Pakistan taken on them?” asked Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman
Taking part in a press conference, Sitharaman said at every level, India has been following the process of law and the Mumbai attackers had been brought to book and punished but in Pakistan not even the first court was doing its job.
She further said she didn’t want to say how the Indian government was going to respond to the attack as Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given full freedom the Army to respond at any given time and as they see fit.
Ministry of External Affairs yesterday reacted to Khan’s remarks by saying that Pakistan disclaiming any link with terrorist attacks is an often repeated lame excuse and that the country was the nerve centre for such groups.
Referring to Khan’s statement, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said three things are obvious. “First, there is not even a pretext of outright condemnation of the incident. Second, let alone sympathy for the bereaved families, not even lip sympathy for them. And third, a very shallow logic that ‘provide to us actionable intelligence’ as though the origin of crime is not known.”
