Chennai: Asian Society of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgeons (ASCVTS) in association with the Indian Association of Cardiovascular-thoracic Surgeons (IACTS) is hosting a joint international conference from 21 to 24 February in city.
IACTS organising chairman, Dr Rajan Santosham, said, “The conference aims to bring out the reinvented newer modalities and innovations that are bringing about further advancement to the quality of surgeries. From open heart surgeries to minimally-invasive techniques, the field of cardiac surgery has come a long way.”
“Focused sessions on improving patient outcomes of heart and lung transplant surgeries, minimally-invasive valve and coronary artery bypass surgeries, lung surgeries, pediatric and neonatal heart surgeries highlight the re-emergence of cardiothoracic surgery. The conference is also set to launch a new application for the members of IACTS that will enable the doctors to be connected and updated about the new developments,” said IACTS secretary and IATSCON 2019 organising secretary, Dr Rajan Sethuratnam.
The conference also hosts a two-day programme for the intensive care and operation theatre nurses on 22 and 23 February at Madras Medical Mission, a press release said.
