Chennai:Â Four members of a family, including a 12-year-old, lost their lives in a mishap at Sirunallur, Madurantakam in Kanchipuram district, during the wee hours of today.
According to the police, the driver of the car in which the family was travelling lost control of the vehicle and rammed a bus.
The police said the family was on way to Kumbakonam from Chennai airport.
The mishap took place when they were crossing Sirunallur.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the tyre of the car burst and the vehicle hit the bus.
Further investigations are under way.
