Ojoy launches smartwatch for kids

Chennai: Chennai based NWSD Technologies Private Limited who fund the tech startup, ‘Ojoy’ have recently launched a children’s smartwatch phone. It uses ‘Kido OS’ which is the world’s first animated Android OS dedicated for a kids smartwatch.

The model name, ‘Ojoy A1’ uses Qualcomm 8909w chipset. It has a screen size of 1.4 inch with a resolution of 320*320. The smartwatch has a memory size of 512 MB RAM with 4GB ROM. It has the ability to connect via Wifi. The smartwatch also comes with a front facing 2 MP camera. The battery size is 800 mAh. Another benefit for users is that it is waterproof and it weighs just 51 grams. Customers have options to buy the smartwatch in blue or pink colour. Some other features includes corning gorilla glass, two-way voice calling, voice and emoji messaging, location tracking, weather updates, among others. The firm has also revealed in a press release that more features will be added to the smartwatch soon.

Kido OS is powered by Android. Users can access the main menu which guides them to use functions like calling or messaging family and friends. The UI is animated and each swipe on touchscreen, switches the function and animation theme. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 platform, it is designed to bring enhanced wearable experience.

V Venkataramanan, CEO, said, ‘OJOY will take number one market share in 4G VoLTE kids smartwatch phone segment in Asia Pacific and across the Indian market. We have unveiled OJOY A1 4G VoLTE smartwatch phone for kids which are specially designed for them with best quality. We are extremely optimistic that OJOY A1 will provide new way of communication between parents and kids.’

Ojoy is an international brand for children’s electronics products funded by NWSD Technologies Private Limited which is headquartered in Chennai and having a branch in Bangalore. According to a press release, its business focus is on integration of IoT solutions, smartphone development, and smart home devices and affordable connectivity devices for children.
