Chennai: A woman died and her husband was injured in a hit-and-run case at Kodambakkam this morning.
According to the police, Dr Kanagaraj (57) was riding on Dr Ambedkar Road, Power House with his wife Meena (55), who was pillion riding. An unknown vehicle hit them and fled the spot.
Police said the accident took place at 7.30 am. The police went through CCTV footage to identify the vehicle.
Kanagaraj, who was rushed to Government Kilpauk Hospital was later shifted to a private hospital for treatment.
Meena’s body was sent to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital for post mortem. The couple lived in Nagarjuna Nagar, Kodambakkam and Kanagaraj runs a private clinic.
