Chennai: The plane that Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami was travelling from Chennai to Thoothukudi developed a snag mid-air and returned to Chennai this morning.
The Chief Minister was on way to Kanyakumari to take part in the function that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was participating in this afternoon.
According to reports, Palaniswami will be taking another flight to Madurai and from there travel by road to Kanyakumari.
The function has been scheduled for this afternoon at 1 pm at Agatheeswaram Vivekananda Polytechnic college grounds where Modi will be inaugurating projects that have been completed at a total cost of Rs 40 lakh crore. He will also lay the foundation stone for other schemes.
Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and Union Minister of State for Finance Pon Radhakrishnan will also be participating in the function at Kanyakumari.
