Chennai: As part of the monthly Sunday Kutcheri in the Park organised by Sundaram Finance, 12-year-old Manasa Hariprakash, a student of Guru Sri. Palghat Ramprasad, presented a mikeless kutcheri at Nageswara Rao Park at Mylapore today, between 7 am and 8 am.
Mikes and speakers are not used at the kutcheri. Accompanied on the violin by Thirucherai Karthik and on the mirudangam by Sunaada Krishna Amai, Manasa presented compositions that included Siva Siva Siva Enarada (Pantuvarali), Elle Ilang Kiliye (Begada), Kanchadalayadakshi (Kamala Manohari) and Eesane Indha Ezhai (Chakravakam), a press release said.
Sundaram Finance senior general manager N Sriraman presented certificates and mementos to the artistes.
Launched in February 2006, the idea of the Sunday Kutcheri in the Park, that takes place on the first Sunday of every month, is to provide opportunities to young budding talent aged below 15 years to present in front of an informal park audience amidst chirping birds and falling leaves.
