Action between Jeppiaar Institute of technology and Hindustan boys

Chennai: Jeppiaar Institute of Technology Sriperumpudur won the inaugural league of the third inter collegiate basketball tournament for Jeppiaar trophy at Jeppiaar Institute of Technology grounds here today by defeating Hindustan University, 85 -70.

Playing their first league, Jeppiaar’s lanky forward, Anandraj, point guard Daniel Richards and pivot Shelton Roshan were the architects of the team as they helped the team register an easy win.

In another league of the day, Defending champions Loyola quelled the challenge shown by Sathyabama and won the match by 20 points.

In other matches, MCC lost to Hindustan and Satyabama beat strong SRM by the scores of 18 and 12 respectively. The tournament was inaugurated by the Principal of Jeppiaar Institute of Technology. L.M. Merlin Livingston

Sheldon Roshan 18, S. Vishvesh 14, Anandraj 12) bt Hindustan University 70 ( Salman 22, Radhakrishnan 16); Loyola 73 (Mukesh 27, Aravind 19) bt Satyabama 53 ( Surya 14, Viswak 12).
