Chennai: Tata Consultancy Services, emerged as the winners of the inter-corporate doubles badminton tournament for women employees, organised by Axis Bank, recently at The Olympiad, Thoraipakkam, here as a part of International Women’s Day.
The tournament saw the participation of nearly 128 women from 27 diversified corporate companies such as TCS, Infosys, Amazon and 24 other companies actively . Women employees of Tamilnadu police and armed forces also took part in the tournament.
In the final, Akshaya N and Krishba Lahari D (from TCS) won while Sharanya KS and Deboshruti Biswas (from TCS) were the runner up.
The winners will be felicitated and awarded with trophies, while other participants will be presented with participant certificates on 8 March.
Speaking on the initiative, President Branch Banking, Axis Bank, Ravi Narayanan, said, “With each passing year, the number of participants has increased. It is overwhelming to see how more and more women are taking interest in sports and are passionate about it.” Axis Bank initiated the flagship Badminton tournament in 2017 and TCS and Infosys have emerged as the winners in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
