Chennai: The 1,008 pal kudam procession of the Sri Angalaparameswari Temple in Triplicane, actually would have drawn more devotees than the stipulated number. Such was the crowd that was seen on the streets of Triplicane on 5 March.
The devotees walked with pots of milk on their head from Arulmigu Thulukanathamman Temple on Dr Natesan Road and covered Dr Natesan Road, Irusappa Gramani Street, Dr Besant Road and reached the Sri Angalaparameswari Temple via Dr Natesan Road again.
The procession that began around 8.45 am, concluded by about 12 noon. The abhishekams and aradhanai after that concluded around 1 pm. Drum beats accompanied the devotees to keep their spirits up.
