Chennai: The Southern Railway will construct new escalators at Chennai Beach, Tambaram and Tiruvallur Railway Stations.
According to a press release, 11 escalators will be built at a cost of Rs 11 crore. It includes five at Chennai Beach, four at Tambaram and two at Tiruvallur Railway Station.
On Friday, members of the Parliament, including T K Rangarajan, P Venugopal among others, inaugurated the project by laying the foundation stones along with the presence of senior Southern Railway officials.
