Dr Republica Sridhar, founder of RMD Pain and Palliative Care Trust, 13, Raghavaiah Road, received ‘Mayan Award’ at an event organised by Vista India in Puducherry recently.
A press release said, Dr Republica received the honour from Kiran Bedi, Governor of Puducherry.
RMD Trust that was started with an aim to provide pain relief treatment to terminally ill patients, is now running a 50-bedded hospital at Sriperumpudur serving palliative patients with chronic ailments.
Republica also runs another 80-bedded hospital in the city and at Madurai, the release added.
