Chennai: The candidates list and constituencies from which the DMK will be contesting the Lok Sabha elections was expected to be announced later today along with the names of contestants for the by-poll in 18 Assembly constituencies.
The DMK will be contesting in 20 seats in the alliance and has allotted 10 to the Congress, two each to VCK, CPI and CPI(M) and one each to MDMK, IJK, IUML and KNMDK.
The interview of AIADMK candidates was happening for the second day during which 19 aspirants were interviewed. Yesterday, cadres from 20 constituencies were interviewed. Following this, the list of the AIADMK candidates and constituencies is expected to be announced tomorrow.
Once the candidates are finalised, the parties plan to go on full-fledged election campaigning.
