Chennai: Ahead of the general elections polling day in Tamilnadu on 18 April, the Directorate of School Education has passed an order to all schools to finish conducting annual exams in the State before 12 April.
The order instructed the schools to conduct the exams for classes 1 to 5 between 1 and 12 April. For classes 6 to 9, all exams should be over on or before 12 April, the order said.
Most schools have finished portions and are currently in the process of conducting revision classes and special classes to prepare the students for exams.
Meanwhile, the class 10 board exams in the State commenced today. With matters in the political arena heating up, all parties have started their political campaigning in earnest. Teachers and students are requesting politicos to refrain from using loudspeakers in thickly populated residential areas and conduct campaigns in open spaces that are away from houses where students will be studying.
