Chennai: DMDK treasurer Premalatha Vijayakanth has stated that the candidates list for the party for the 2019 general elections will be announced later in the day.
Speaking to mediapersons here this morning, party founder Vijayakanth’s wife said the list was being finalised and would be released today.
Asked why the party was not invited for the announcement of the constituencies by the AIADMK, she said as the agreement had already been signed between the AIADMK and DMDK, they had not been invited.
After a lot of will-it-won’t-it guessing, the DMDK signed on the dotted line with the AIADMK to join the alliance that also features BJP, PMK and other parties.
The DMDK has been allotted four seats in the parliamentary elections and it has pledged support to the AIADMK for the by-elections to the Assembly that are being held along with the general elections 18 April.
