Madurai: Son of late chief minister M Karunanidhi and expelled DMK leader, M K Alagiri yesterday said just like the last parliamentary elections, the DMK led by his brother M K Stalin would face the same fate in the coming Lok Sabha elections also.
The DMK had suffered lost in the 2014 parliamentary polls as the AIADMK swept the elections winning 37 of the 39 seats in the State. The former Union Minister said he would give views within a week on the DMK candidates to be fielded in the coming polls. In the previous elections he had contested from Madurai.
When questioned whether he would extend support to CPI-M leader S Venkatesan, who would be contesting from Madurai Lok Sabha seat, Alagiri said he will take a decision next week on whether or not he would support Venkatesan.
“I will meet him as a matter of courtesy. I will give him due respect if he comes and meets me,” he said.
