Chennai: Sleuths of the Income-Tax (I-T) Department today carried out raids at a leading city-based educational group.
According to sources, several teams carried out the raids from 5 am.
It is said the raids took place at 30 places where the group has institutions and offices – 27 in Tamilnadu, including Chennai, and three in Telangana.
In the city, I-T teams carried out searches in Pallavaram, Adyar, Saidapet and Ayanavaram where branch offices and institutes are located.
I-T officials also surveyed the residences of the group’s promoters.
As many as 25 teams were involved in the raids, said sources.
