Karimnagar:Ā The Telangana police yesterday arrested a college student on charges of making derogatory remarks against Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on the social media.
According to media reports, the the 21-year-old B Tech student Vilasagaram Sai Kumar had posted a selfie-video in which he made derogatory comments against Rao for his speech at a meeting on 17 March.
Based on the video the police registered a case under various sections of the IPC, including 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace). Kumar has been remanded in judicial custody, said a report.
