Chennai:Ā Premalatha Vijayakanth yesterday showered praise on the two women – Tamilnadu BJP president Tamilisai Soundararajan and Rajya Sabha MP M Kanimozhi contesting from Tuticorin for the coming Lok Sabha elections.
The DMDK treasurer said that the two women wereĀ good and hardworking people andĀ that she strongly supported women’s participation in politics.
Speaking to reporters, Premalatha said, “It is a healthy thing. I am always a supporter of women’s participation in politics. They (Kanimozhi and Soundararajan) are good candidates capable of hard work and are familiar.”
The DMDK led by actor-turned-politician Vijayakanth has beenĀ allotted four Lok Sabha seats in Tamilnadu in an alliance with the ruling AIADMK party.
She also further assured that her ailing husband Vijayakanth would participate in the campaign as the people wanted to see him. The campaign is scheduled to begin 27 March.
