Chennai: The post-mortem report on the girl child who was found murdered on the outskirts of Coimbatore yesterday, has confirmed she was raped before being done in.
Reports state that the police have now formed 10 special teams to find the perpetrator of the ghastly crime.
The 6-year-old girl had gone missing after going out to play Monday evening. After she failed to return even after night fall, her parents searched for her. But when they could not trace her, they filed a police complaint.
The next morning, yesterday, their neighbours found the girl’s body with her hands and legs tied. There were injury marks on her body. The parent rushed the body to the government hospital where they confirmed she had died sometime back.
The post-mortem found that the girl had been raped before being murdered.
The police are now questioning a neighbour, a young man, in connection with the murder. They have also added POCSO clauses to the case.
CPI(M) State general secretary K Balakrishnan has condemned the rape and murder of the girl.
